Inlet plan comment period closes at end of month
Released 19 Aug 2011
The draft plan that is out for comment was developed in consultation with a community and industry advisory group and aims to protect and improve the water quality of the Hardy Inlet by reducing nutrient runoff from the Scott River catchment.
"A number of agencies and individuals have already commented on the plan, and we are looking for input from local people," Department of Water Geographe Capes District Manager Dr Kath Lynch said.
"Local knowledge and opinion is valuable in putting together these plans because they rely on community actions to implement.
"We value this input and believe that local people know their area and can make a valuable contribution to develop the best plan to protect and improve the Hardy Inlet."
A copy of the Hardy Inlet water quality improvement plan, Stage one – the Scott river catchment can be found on the Department of Water's website at www.water.wa.gov.au.
Please send your comments to Dr Kath Lynch at the Department of Water 72 Duchess Street Busselton 6280 or email HardyInletWQIP@water.wa.gov.au by 5pm on the 31 August 2011.
The department will review and consider all comments it receives on the Hardy Inlet water quality improvement plan. At the completion of the planning process it will produce and make public a statement of response.
