Waterwise Council Program
Delivered in partnership between the Water Corporation and the Department of Water and Environmental Regulation, the Waterwise Council Program helps local councils improve their water efficiency, liveability and to develop waterwise communities. The program is free to join for all local government authorities in Western Australia.
As substantial users of drinking water and groundwater, local councils have an important role to play in our state’s waterwise future – helping ensure communities are resilient in the face of climate change.
Established in 2009, the Waterwise Council Program has helped many local councils lead by example and demonstrate waterwise practices in their facilities and across irrigated public open spaces, including parks, gardens and sports fields.
Councils endorsed by the program are recognised for their achievements and can elevate their waterwise status from endorsed to gold and platinum.
For further information about the program, the annual re-endorsement process and to view the status of endorsed waterwise councils, please visit the Water Corporation website.
